Last night my great grandad passed away.

My nan called Tuesday night and said that she didn’t think he would last much longer. I thought that it would’ve been longer than a day at least. My grandad was an amazing man, he fought in World War 2, where he was captured by Japanese soldiers and kept prisoner. He was awarded with medals and honours. He had seen so much in his life time. He had always been my favourite grandparent, I loved him with all of my heart and still do. Last year, he collapsed and was rushed to the hospital where the doctors said that his brain was bleeding and didn’t know how much longer he had left to live. He still lasted quite some time, after all, he is a trooper. His memory started to deteriorate and he was mixing his memories together, thinking that my cousin was my dad one minute and then thinking he was off to war the next. He suffered quite a while. At least now he is at peace and in a better place. You may be gone, grandad, but you will never be forgotten. Your funeral will be beautiful, just like the person you were. I love you.
